The Share Your Soles Third Annual 5K and 10K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at Soldier Field. This isn’t just a chance to see Soldier Field up-close and personal, it’s also a great opportunity to give back.

“Shoes are the form of transportation in these other countries,” says race director Mona Purdy. “We can choose to walk or run, they don’t have a choice. They have to walk for water, food and health care.”

Participants are encouraged to bring gently worn shoes to the race. The shoes will be taken over to third world countries and distributed to people who need them. The race starts at 9 a.m. at Soldier Field. So come on out and run for a great cause, or as Purdy put it…”put a little sole in it.”
