Are you directing a road race? If so, consider attending a seminar offered by USA Track & Field called “Cardiac Care for Race Directors.”

Whether your race is a 5K fun run or an ultramarathon, there is a standard of care that must be met; however, when should you include a higher level of preventative procedures? Race directors must be proactive in determining the level of care and service they must provide in order to prevent and identify sudden cardiac arrest and other medical issues. The seminar will be held in Oakbrook at Central Park West (the Shelter, 1500 Forest Gate Road) from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on May 14. Meechai Tessalee, M.D., F.A.C.C., of Suburban Cardiologists will speak. Register online at www.active.com or call 630-327-1619.
